A group of ancient Iranain were on their way to Delhi centuries back, when they were crossing a part of north India between Allahabad and Varanasi, some of them decided to stay there.
The place was Bhadohi. Iranian who stayed out there were skilled weavers, they started weaving rugs there and trained local villagers in this art, thats how Bhadohi became a hub of carpet weaving. Most of the rugs woven here are being exported through out the world today.
Now Indo Rugs are favourite among foreigners as it is much cost efficient than Iranian. * * *
