It was the first ever case in Benaras when Holy city and PM Constitution was reverberating with the sharp noise of charged batons hitting upon Hindu protesters, and you know baton doesn’t discriminate between Saints, women, teen boys, men. They were stubbornly making their move in order to immerse Ganesha Idol at Dashshwamedh Ghat in Varanasi. Chief Minister has never ever imagined to win a seat in Varanasi constituency, he had given clear order to administration in terms of following Allahabad High Court’s verdict, that is not to immerse any idol made of paints having lead, mercury, AZO, Cyanide, Varnish into Ganga and Yamuna. Needless to mention Durga Puja, Dushherra is on roll, how Varanasi administration will carry on with HC verdict and state government. This is untold truth that Akhilesh Yadav will go to any extent to maintain Law and Order.

★ Varanasi: Baton hits with bone chrushing power.

According to reports, the Kashi Maratha Ganesh Utsav Samiti started its procession, along with the Ganesh idol, on Monday for the immersion of the idol in Ganga but was stopped by the administration that was citing the High Court’s ruling in this regard.

It is to be mentioned that the Allahabad High Court has banned immersion of idols and any such activity in the Ganga and Yamuna rivers.

Various saints also joined the protesters onTuesday to press for the demands following which seniors administrative and police officers made several futile attempts to disperse crowd. However, the protesters, led by Swami Avimukteshwaranand, once again tried to march towards the Dasashwamedh Ghat at around 2am on Wednesday following which the police resorted to a lathi-charge. Over two dozen persons including Swami Avimukteshwaranand were injured.

“There are so many other pollutants being
in the Ganga. Why is that not stopped? An worshiped idol is akin to a live individual and why only we are being asked to change our rituals?”, questioned Swami Avimukteshwaranand who is being treated in the district hospital.

… I would like to answer Avimukteshwar anand’s stupid question, assuming he was pointing towards Bakraied waste, animal blood disposed off in Ganga. Kanpur’s Leather industry released thousands of gallons processing waste, and so it yields about 4500 crores. There are treatment plants which separate the solid impurities from water as we know all kinda liquids disposed in river moves away. Bakeried’s waste are biodegradable. Just chemical is banned in response to Writ Petition filed by no other than Ganga Bachao Samiti.

However, the district administration denied any use of force to end the protest. “We told the organizers that the High Court’s order should be respected or else a legal action will be taken. Alternative arrangements have been made for religious rituals”, Varanasi DM Raj Mani Yadav said.

—Wouded and unconscious, it happened because he wanted to harm Ganga.

Later in the morning, the administration guided the protesters to the Laxmi Kund in the Laxa locality and performed the immersion amidst tight security.

Sources also informed that an FIR has been registered against over a 100 unknown persons in the Dashshwamedh Ghat police station. Section 144 (unlawful assembly) of the IPC has been implemented in the area.
